Racing Helmet
I was told that racing helmets have a use by date similar to that of seatbelts and was wondering if this was true? I have an Arai helmet with snell SAOO wrote on it, is this out of date?

Unfortunately the better helmets have a snell number on them and this does date them I think yours should say SA2000 and this is ok The cheaper bike / karting helmets have a kite mark type A or A/FR and there is no date. In fact I used my old karting helmet while my new lid was being sprayed. However after having a RF04 land on my head I would suggest buy the best lid you can afford! |

Your helmet is (FIA) approved in SA2000 untill December 31 2008. At least in all FIA events.
