The new "2004 BAR HONDA"
Hi everybody. I'm back; back on the forum.
What do I mean.... Well, it's like this. In 2003 JV was gone from F1, and the team was pretty crappy, middle field, but in 2004 it was a new team, a BIG BIG Revelation. Do u think we will have this year a revelation, considering the new V8 engines and reg. changes??? And if u do, well who do u think will shine this year ??? Personally I think Williams are in for a big surprise, but let's not forget the NEW BMW-Sauber. |

I thought the thread was stating that Honda was using chassis or something from 2004...
The big surprise ? Maybe... the new 2006 BAR HONDA team ? |

I was expecting an Aguri thread from the title...
I think the reference was to the success the team achived in 2004 as compared to 2003, therefore, due to the problems of 2005, if they were to do really well this year then it would be comparably contrasting. I think that was the jist. Anyway, as to the question, I really don't know. This year is truly a collection of unknowns. |

BAR is gone, seeing as they sold out their stake in the team to Honda.
It is going to be Team Honda Racing Engineering F1, or something of similarly excessive length. |

I wanted to know if u think if u'll see this year a Revelation !!! Just that.
I didn't want to talk about who's going to win the championship or anything like that ! considering the new V8 engines and reg. changes, we can have a good revelation and maybe a bad revelation, God only knows that !!! lol |

AD is setting the car up at Bahrain today (Monday 13th) for JB & RB to take over, now we will see how it performs in the heat of the first venue. AD reckons William and Sauber are equal 4th quickest but that the Cosworth would have benefitted more with the Michelin. |

It's wierd isn't it,that this week we'll probably have a good idea as to who is going to win the race in a months time.

Yeah, and there was I thinking only the evil Ferrari were going to be so terrible as to test outwith Europe.

I am surprised that more teams are not there. Toyota with their new package is hiding somewhere. The rest did not see the importance of the test either, apparently. This may actually play into Honda's hands. They will know how the car performs in general on the track. They will have a friday tester and they have an already fast car. I think the first race of the season could be pretty interesting. Ferrari and Renault, who I think are in front are the spoilers for Honda right now if testing is holding true.

I thought that earlier in the off-season Ferrari were getting hammered for being so immoral as to test outwith Europe in the off-season? Or was this only applicable to pre-Xmas or something?
I assume there must be some detail I am forgetting. Either that or it is hte usual hypocrisy. |

Interesting to compare best lap times on first test day there yesterday and first practice back in 2004, not a lot of difference on 'green' surface...
13/02/06 LB/Ferrari 1.32.297, AD/Honda 1.32.571 02/04/04 M$/Ferrari 1.32.158, AD/Honda 1.32.958 |

I've often wondered what it would be like if we had, for example, 0.5L V20s.
Not having much understanding of workings of engines, I have no idea if such a thing could work on any level, but it would be interesting to see them try.... |

We'd have to re-introduce manual then!
Well, we should do that now anyway.....but that is a different matter....... |
