Studs vs center lock wheels?
Just having my Friday afternoon think. Is there any technical reason to go to a center lock wheel compared to a normal stud variety? or is purely a center lock wheel is a quicker to change?

I would have thought in fact the 5 studs/nuts would have been safer as I have lost wheels on TR4's and Jags on the road with knock on hubs. Maybe thats why they dont use centre locks in NASCAR.

Centrelocks are quicker to change, and they have splined drive and/or dog drive, so they also have a more positive drive, not reliant on the fixings.
The down-side (or up) is that it's only one nut, though again, there is more than one type of positive security fixing these days, unlike the old knock offs that fell off if you didn't hit them with a mallet hard enough. Rob. |

Studs are also lighter, since it is unsprug weight, that would be good
