Pembrey crash and Jedi Brakes

An interesting thread on a Pembrey crash resulting from a Jedi brake failure has disapeared off the Jedi site. Bit worrying as this looks to be a real safety issue. I thought only Tony Blair was into censorship!!!

Well considering the length of time the Jedi has been running i think this could be put down to either bad preparation or just a ware and tear situation. The Jedi was a car designed in the 70's and so is an old design that has served the class well. I think if you look through the history of the class i think you'll find that its been a very safe series (touch wood) I dont think blaming the cars design for a one off brake faliure is really sensible. We raced in the class for two years and there is nothing wrong with the design of the brake system.

Admitidly i know nothing about the crash but i would expect it would just be either because someone hadnt been checking the brake lines enough or a bolt came lose somewhere along the line. These things happen

Looked a bit more of an issue than that in that there appeared to be a pattern of occurences with other drivers and the problem had been identified to a caliper problem which the factory knew about
