BTCC Donington Park - 30 July 2006

Has anyone tried to book a weekend ticket for the Touring Cars at Donington in a couple of weeks time. I have and I am not impressed with Donington at all, I phone them yesterday, which took about 7 goes to get through to someone.

When I finally did get throught I was told that the price weekend ticket bought in advance, will costs the same as a Saturday and Sunday ticket if you buy them on the gate.

Which is complete a rip off IMO, as people may or may not know go I got to all of the BTCC rounds and I always book my tickets in advance as it works out cheaper.

Oh yeah and while I am ranting about Donington Park, why are the only major track in the country that you can't book your tickets online.

According to DP website:
Weekend advance ticket £30 (+£2.50 booking fee for credit/debit card)

Sat on-the gate £11, Sun on-the-gate £24 =£35

Grandstand ticket +£5 either advance or on-the-gate

Try reading the website again.
£30 for a weekend ticket
+ £2.50 admin/postage fee (or £5.00 if buying 6 or more tickets)
+ £2.25 credit/debit card fee.

In Rob's case he's probably only buying one ticket so £35 on the gate or £34.75 in advance. That's a grand saving of 25p.

I think you can save the £2.50 admin/postage if you buy in person at the circuit office, and also the £2.25 if you pay with cash, but unless you happen to be passing that way it's hardly worth the effort.

Obviously it would be more of a saving the more tickets you buy.

There's no ticket office as such. It's all handled by one person so if they are already answering a call you'll have to wait.
