What do you think michaels new job at ferrari will be?
So, what does everyone think michaels new job at ferrari will be or might be?
Will he become an ambassador of the team or some type of marketing figure? Something deeper involved in the team, some type of manager, a replacement for the other going? Or someone more involved with the ferrari brand not completely linked with the f1 team? This may be merged with the other thread about his retirement if deemed necessary |

Hard to say really isn't it?
Maybe he will take over Todt's role eventually. He probably has the acumen. |

I believe a couple of years ago there were some reports that LdM was grooming MS to be CEO at Ferrari. At the time Fiat were having a few problems and LdM wanted someone to look after Ferrari while he concentrated on the group as a whole. Dunno it the lack of enthusiasm on Michael's face when he was hugged my LdM means the post isn't open any more.

Nascar?
With all the new F1 interest in NASCAR, he will most likely be sent to North Carolina to help develop the NASCAR Ferrari:

Wouldnt be surprised at all if hes given a role that involves the road car company as well as the race team. He could be given a test/development driver role for both the new Ferrari models as well as perhaps being involved in a driver coaching program

I'd go along with somewhere between Knowlsey's and FPV's ideas.
A management/development role of some sort would be brilliant with the longer term aim being to take over as Tech Director or something like that? Footnote: He obviously has a lot of time for Felipe and maybe he wants to keep on nurturing him? |

I honestly thought he'd step away altogether for a while, possible permanently.
I don't think it'll be a key role in the day to day running of the team. Something ambassadorial, not far different to alot of the stuff he does off-circuit already. |

I'd be surprised if Michael doesnt use 2007 as a season to get a good rest from everything. He had a very long F1 career, and being at the competitive edge for 15 years. Time to take things slow, spent time with his wife and kids and relax.
But still, he'd probably drop by Ferrari regularly to check out the guys and the new cars. Ferrari is his family, his home... and as Monza has shown, he is still very quick, very committed and a winning driver in every sense. He'd probably run a couple of tests in the 2007 car to weigh in his opinions, help the drivers settle in, probably taking a small management role. In the long run, i think it's reasonable to see Michael hanging out at the pitlane sorting strategies and stuff. He's too young to just leave F1 completely, and too enthusiastic. |
