Has it ever occured to you people...
... that the constant unecessary closing of threads here could discourage members from posting and as a result can have a detrimental effect on this board?
Fair enough in some circumstances the locking of a thread is warranted, but you people seem very "trigger happy" in this department with the locking of threads that did not need to be locked absolutely rampant here. |

Threads get locked for a reason, be it that it has veered so far off topic that it can't return to what the thread was about. Or that it is the 50th thread about the same subject.
It's not locking for locking sake, the locking is for a reason. |

Has it occurred that if people didn't let trolling, bashing, swearing, attacking, (etc...) get out of hand there would be no closing of threads?
More specifically, if people are going to bang on about JV in every thread then it is going to cause problems. We also get complaints that we don't closed these threads. What to do!? Seriously Eff One, if you have a problem with a close please contact a member of staff. The reason behind it may also not be fully evident as really bad posts will probably have been removed. See the FAQ for how to do this and background on how 10-10ths is run. Closure is a last resort, but is necessary as all the moderators are volunteers and don't always have the time to baby sit posters on subjects that, for some reason, always get out of hand. Anyway, I think this thread should be closed. |

I can't really add anything to what Adam said, apart from adding 1 to the number of "unnecessarily closed threads" ...
