Matt isn't doing Combe, or so he tells us. Is Ed going to do anything?

Combe could be wide open among the usual suspects then, although obviously no idea who's in & who's out - also what of this young fBMW refugee Orgee in last week's Autosport? I don't know anything about him, but it seems like a good thing that those with professional aspirations choose to race in club ff1600 (particularly at Combe, although I'm biased!!), provided they don't overpower everyone wishing just for a good time with politicking. (not to say this is what will happen, but it raises the question)

I even think Pat is having a season on the sidelines so Nick Jones looks one of the favourites although I gather Mr Jenson may have a new Ray?

Ben Norton may be one to watch, and don't forget Bob Higgins if he is back.

mattray has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Ben is going to be in a Spectrum hopefully or thats what it said on the side of the car at Autosport, and Andrew Jones might be in something different so that might be good, shame there is a an age limit, would be good to see Blakeney Jnr out

Any one have predictions for the north west. I think in pre 90 could be open to anyone this year and post 89 hutch could be pushed hard if the two young ones come up from pre 90 and franklin could be quick in his new 90 vd and of course the regulars will be there hopefully aswell.

Could be a good year in the north west this year.

It is just the usual Castle Combe site - castlecombecircuit.co.uk - and it is not specifically FF1600. There is nothing on there as yet - the deal is just to provide around 800 words of report and news on each round of the three local championships for FF1600, Saloons and GTs.

Not heard from Steve Jensen for a while, but when I last did he was being very coy and lanky. Things have obviously moved on since then.

i belive that in the nw tom bradshaw may be moving into the newer class in a van dieman 00. anyone know anything on that. he fully deserved his champ win last season even if it was his first time racing and i think quite a few people would like to see him move up.

Is Hutch confirmed for 07?

Shame that there isn't a Gough in NW this year.

Hopefully Cole will have a good run of podiums this year, he came on really well towards the end of 06.

Pre90 looks interesting this year. No Bradshaw, but he is wanting a UKFF drive, with an option for Palmer Audi. He went well in testing in December. No Franklin. I put my bets on Whelan on winning if he does this year, if not, its down to Bailey and Ashton. Rob Wyke could do well. And Parkington has a good chance.

Any big names new or returning for NW07?

He is more likely to be in either FPA or a Duratec than a kent car

Hutch has sold his car and I am sure he will sit out this year.

I think post 90 will be the same as last year with Chiz, Chadwick and Neil Patten fighting it out with Dave Franklin just behind them. Is Rob Whelen out in the UCLAN VD95? That should suit his style of driving and could be a dark horse.

Who will be John Loebells main man this year???

Champions -

Post 90 - Chris Chisnal
Pre 90 - David Ashton

I agree with youngoldy - if there's a dark horse worth a bet it's James Cole. Very impressive at the end of last year, and the only way is up. I'm confident he'll be joining the people Redracer's mentioned and we've got used to seeing up at the front.

Pre90 - In recent years we've seen a "young gun" appear at the front of the field. Thing is, will it possible to spot if the same is going to happen this year until the first round? There'll certainly be a few new faces in the paddock, but which one will have the real talent will be difficult to judge until they get on the grid for that very first time...

We had two at the end of last year and I'm not sure what they're doing - Rob Wyke and Doug Crosbie.

This being the shortest of the four configurations.

Hooray

At last we'll get some decent reports on the website for a change hopefully you'll be a little bias when it comes to the combe hardcore favourate's FFord of course followed closely by the GT's and Saloons

So we could have another classic year i still say that Bob Higgins if he does come back will be a major player so fast for an oldy along with Ben Norton, steve jenson, nick and andy jones, hopefully we'll have a few new winners this year wouldn't it be good if we had a different winner in each round...but yes i know that's just asking for too much.

And i think Steve Burns may well move up the grid a little too

Horray Chemo is now finished!!! so I will be racing all season at Combe this year.

Well I might not win every race, but I will certainly be pushing for podium finishes.
