Inept Judiciary Ruins What Was A Great Race (merged x2)

Dumbrell didn't even make it through the first turn before doing something stupid in taking out team mate McConville.

And now here we are on lap 49 and Race Control have made a retarded decision re Lowndes & Wilson.

V8s are back in fine form.

And before the Holden guys start on about whinging Ford supporters, I would like to make it clear that the final result was most pleasing, read that how you wish. My beef is it appears that race control has got it wrong again, costing Lowndes a few positions. These people who sit infront of the monitors and make call like this need to be cleaned out and personnel who will take time to look at the big picture need to be introduced. Yes Lowndes made contact, but only because Wilson came across the front of the car and this as a form of blocking which he had done for a number of laps. What the feeling out there or have I got it wrong.

But having said that, I thought it was a prety good race. No turn 8 wallbangers, no real agro, some great dices and the top Falcons and Commodores look very even. Should be a great year.

CR@P

1. Wilson cut across Lowndes a la Ambrose / Skaife etc. He should have allowed room. In any case he was blocking for several laps.

2. Wilson was already sliding and probably going to spin anyway without the lightest possible tap from Lowndes.

Shades of Indy ...

Blue glasses have nothing to do with it, I'm a Holden fan and there were 2 Fords involved in the incident - I'm just sick of the spastics in race control ruining the races.

I think the call was right - what I don't get is why blokes (in this case Wilson) fight tooth and nail for position with a bloke who is effectively a pit stop ahead. I know its for position at the time, but they are not really racing that car. All that happens is it ends in tears (for everyone).

Do those in the tower need to take more time to view the footage and talk to the flagpoint who would have had a good view, but again after the race, when the flaggy has time to reflect fully on the incident. Race control could then impose a time penality if they find an indiscretion had infact been committed. In open and blatant cases a drive thru is appropriate.

Appeared very similar to an incident that occurred in the final race of 2006. I can't remember the drivers involved however. Does anyone else remember the event or have I dreamt it?

I dont really see what the problem was ?

Craig turned max around no one can deny that , From what I saw Max was taking his normal line into the corner which as the car in front he is entitled to do.
Craig Im not sure what he was up to but he was pussyfooting around up the inside (either have a go or wait for the next opportunity)

You just cant half stick your car up the inside and expect the bloke to move out of your way.

I really dont think Max was going to spin by himself either (that seems like wishfull thinking in my opinion)

as much as Im a Lowndes fan I blame him totally for the incident and I guess he got the penalty for simply running into and turning Max around.

Oh well maybe tomorrow will be better for craig (or should that be "maybe tomorrow will be Vodafone for craig" ??)

Poor Craig.

So a Holden taps a Ford gets a drive thru and we have 3 months of whinging that the penalty wasnt harsh enough. First race in and an almost exact replay between two Fords and a drive thru is too harsh. Get a grip !

Havent seen them giving Max Wilson a Championship Title because of it ... you just don't get it, do you? Still, given the behaviour (past and present) of HRT/HSV/Walkinshoddy, on and off the track - we could hardly expect that their supporters would respect fair play and sportsmanship either.

Totally Agree, If the roles were reversed in the last round last year and Craig tapped Rick, the Blue Brigade would have been screaming that a drive through was unfair. Get a grip, if Craig did not have his car in that position, the incident would not have happened. In the past now, move on and I hope they both have a better race tomorrow.

Tocuchee Touchee deeks6,it just seems you drive a FORD and big Tim and his holdenofficals will stop from winning, a race for a team that SHOULD not even be able to start.

WHAT A BLOODY DISGRACE TIM & TEGA
