Shame the car does not conform to the BRC's regulations. Hence the reason why Mark Watson no longer races in Rallycross, after he built his car to the the Super Nat regs. But I guess they might change the rules - they have done it before and will do it again. 10 days will be more than enough time for them to do that.

mark watsons car was found to be ok after the correct proceedure was followed and the rule book consulted. the problem was over where the windscreen ends and not over the engine being moved. (FACT)

Why would he???????????????????????????????????? It was fun for both Bergstrom and the rest of the field. Yes Bergstrom car was wide but every one can make there car wide. That's part of the fun |

Most of these Super National cars from Scandinavia DONT comply with BRC rules, and yes the Bergstrom car should not of been allowed to compete at the above event, and also should not of been able to score points!! The reason for this is that the cars engines are soooo far back in the cars, and are actually past the bulkhead which is against the BRC rules. This is why they are not allowed in the BRC, and you only ever see them in Britain at the Superprix and ROC events as they have a class for supernational cars. The Shannon car and its eligibility will therefore depend upon this engine location and having one of same number of cylinders as original. He will also have to look hard to find sum Kumho's to fit the car as they run with very small rims. Will be interesting to see how the car goes on Kumho's as these cars normally run on very, very soft Yokohama rubber which helps with grip. These cars can be made legal for the BRC, for example the Bergstorm car that was at Croft last October, only needed the engine moving 3-4 inches forward for it to be legal, so will be interesting to see if more cars appear in the BRC based upon this. Thoughts everyone!? |

Got these from Roy Dempster
I'm suprised no one has built their own for over here but if someone was willing to have the shells built in Europe then put together using the rules from over here then they would be a nice sight to see and not just once a year Last edited by M.Lowe; 1 Apr 2007 at 12:54. |

Hello to all, been watching some of the discussions for years and felt the urge to join, so here i am. The show that Don Shannons car was at was a fairly large motorsport show in Antrim (NI) and it was there along with Lawence Gibson's 6R4.

Looking at Pat Dorans car, the rear of the engine sits well behid the bulkhead, which i thought was not allowed.
