karimbo has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Could Marko Asmer race a Mercedes engine in Japan?

Could Marko Asmer race a Mercedes engine in Japan? In the U.K. he really is dominant with his Hitech car. In Japan he has a hard time following the leaders. Should he have the same car in Japan that he does in the British Championship, he would much more competitive.

It depends... maybe Japanese F3 rulers wants to privilege their national engine makers for strategic reasons. All JF3 champions made it with a Japanese engine on their cars.

In which case is it him or the engine winning races?

Well, as most of the front runners in BF3 are using Mercedes engines I'd have to say it is Marko winning races.

The Nissan engine he uses in JF3 is very old and very heavy. The is always going to struggle against the Toyota. Like Macsport says most have merc's in BF3 so must be down to a good set up from Hitech and a good driver

Most of the JF3 teams are tied in with manufacturers or engine tuners who are synonymous with a specific manufacturer. So unless Three Bond get some sort of Merc franchise it's unlikely! Not sure whether Merc would be interested in sending engines to Japan anyway - it'd take a lot of resources (if only with personnel) for them to beat Honda, let alone Toyota.
