No Nextel Cup for Marcos Ambrose

Hot of the wire .
Marcos will not be starting the Nextel Cup Road course race main reason is said to be uncompleted financial arrangements by major backer of the car.if true this is a great pity for Macos would have shown his great skills on the road course events.Hopefully a better funded team will pick him up.

Well, he has done a road event of course. And there are more to come in Busch Series.

It's not Cup of course, but.... he'll get his chance.

According to the entry list on Jayski, Ambrose is 'expected to be added' would be a pity if Gore didn't put the money up.

I would have thought Monty would have had a great shot.

Unfortunately, they are using CoT so JPM will be consigned to the bin.

His website says that he will not race in the cup race this weekend at Infineon, but he will most likely race at a future road course in the cup this year.

I was sorry to see that Ambrose will not be racing at Infineon. This should be JPM's best shot at a win this year. The competition though will be strong with Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Boris Said, Ron Fellows, Allmendinger, and some others also capable of winning. I would not be at all surprised to see JPM come away with the win. I also would not be surprised if another driver won the race.

Sorry, nascar not my usual motorsport but do tend to watch the road course races. that aside, who is marcos? busch driver making his way toward nextel/sprint or someother cup? And can anybody confirm which road racers are running in the race this weekend? Hoping for at least Boris and Fellows to challenge the regulars and show them how its done. And CoT running this weekend to mess up their chances of having a shot at the win?

Marcos is the Aussie in the busch series... 2 time v8 supercar champ in Australia... so would be a road course specialist... was gonna run the race but would have to many conflicts between practices in the bisch series so is focusing on that... Road racers running: Boris Said, Ron Fellows, Marc Goossens, Butch Leitzinger, and PJ Jones

kingfloopy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
He'll be racing at Watkins Glen later this summer. A lot of the reason he isn't in the race this weekend is that he is running well so far in the Busch series and they are racing 2,000+ miles away this weekend. So the logistics don't work out very well. So it is more the big picture that he can compete for a top-10 points finish and rookie of the year in Busch, but nothing to gain by running Cup this weekend.

Nahmate, missed it - how did Marcos go

Great weekend for Aric Almirola - well done on the win & pole .... Another solid drive by Marcos Ambrose, finishing on the lead lap. Thats 2 races in a row that drivers have got there 1st career win - next up, it's Ambrose time

I like the way that Ambrose has adapted in Nascar. I think that he will do very well when he gets to Cup. It would not surprise me to see him running in the top 10 soon after he gets to Cup and surpassing some of this year's rookies.
