Pit Stop Window Reverts to Earlier In Race??
I noticed at Eastern Creek that the pit stop window (from memory) was from Lap 5. Is this going to be a permanent move and if so what is the reason for it.

don't know and don't know but i thought it has the potential at throwing a spaner in the works if a few blokes pit early and a few pit later it has the potential to throw a few battles with blokes on older tyre and blokes on newer tyre som i hope it stays, note i did say potential as with V8's it probably won't throw a spanner inthe works as anything that happens never does.

Its permanent, to bring back some strategy into the races.

Strategy? Everybody stops as soon as pit window opens. How is that strategy.

If they were smart the pitstop window would have been abolished, not changed.
What a farce Race 3 at Eastern Creek was, Todd Kelly wins the race, but never passed anyone for the lead (unless you call driving past someone in pitlane exciting ) |

driving past someone in pit lane it's the main form of passing we see in F1 with no pit window ala Rosberg at Indy on his one stop strategy, but in V8's it could be different with the way the tyres are but i wouldn't hold my breath.
IMO the only way we are going to encourage passing is have a tyre war or an option tyre ala ChampCar and F1, IMO either would be a step forward i like the later. |

It was decided that changing the pit window from 1/3rd race distance to lap 5 would have no (negative) change in strategy, as the 1/3rd wasn't having any affect. It came in for Winton on wards.
But as I said a few weeks about this, typical of the series to not tell the fans what is happening. |
