Team Brock (Nations Cup, Adelaide)
I had annother look at the entry list for Round One of the Nations Cup and James Brock isn't mentioned on there, yet not too long ago I saw his name there. What's going on, haven't they got James' car finished in time for the race?

The shell was delivered to Team Brock maybe 6 weeks ago or so from GRM, presumably the Brock team havent been able to build up that car, and refurbish the 24hr winner as well...

slightly off topic, but still talking Brock, Peter & Dick Johnson did participate in the Ford-Holden Challenge today which ended at my home town of Tanunda in the Barossa Valley, South Aust. Not too sure who won though.

Bit of a sidenote, Benn Wilson has picked up the drive alongside Damien White in the second Team Brock V8 BRute.

From what I heard it was Holden all the way in the Challenge. Apparently Freestone, Brock and Weeks were the ones to watch, all driving Monaros.

Re the Ford-Holden Challenge it was won by Holden team (P Brock first) but Ford (Michael Stillwell, ???????, Dick Johnson) won the team prize by getting second, third and fourth. Johnson had an INXS band member co-driving.
Sorry for wandering off-topic but the question was asked..... |

Well I must say it is good to see Ford take out the challenge. The results I had heard from around the place were that Brock was doing really well and Freestone also doing well and Kevin Weeks was up there too, but someone bid mention Michael Stillwell in a Mustang was doing well I heard, is this correct?

Yep the 2nd Monaro was not able to be fuuly built in time for Round 1. Due P Brock having commitments with the Olympic Games during the year and would have to miss a round mid year he decided to step out of his car this weekend and let James contest all 8 rounds. Look foward to seeing the two car Brock team at Round 2

So if Nathan Pretty was on Bathurst 24hr tyres (and the markings of the other tyres suggested that had all been used before) what was Jamie Brock's excuse for being a couple of seconds a lap slower, and certainly not pushing the most recent 24hr winner, than Nathan's otherwise healthy car?

Michael Stillwell ran a very quick Twin Cam Escort in Improved Production in the 70's. Retired much too young.
Last i heard of him he was working for Toyota but this was many years ago. Last edited by pete55; 25 Mar 2004 at 09:53. |

I was in the pits just as the cars were being called up for their first outing
Peter pulled the 05 off his car and put the 22 on the side of the car just before they gridded |

I think James has spent more time with the angle grinder and mig on the second car and not enough time in the seat testing.
