[DTM] Round 10 - Baden-Württemberg (GER), 12/14 October 2007
The last DTM thread was so much fun (and the one before that, and the one before that), let me do another one.
This is it, the last round of '07 from the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg Germany. Zeitplan here and a time zone converter here (in case you're Euro challenged like me), and the Driver standings, placement weights and the rest. Bring it. |

after the Barcelona race, the DTM lost any kind of intrest for me, enough from foolish teams orders ! there is no sport there, better follow WTCC and BTCC races !

You know I've heard that Subaru, but thanks for contributing anyway.
Was all-Audi in the test sessions today I think. Results. Paffett 3rd by a tenth in the second session there. The 07 Mercedes quite some distance back. Terrific. Martin Tomczyk quickest on the day. Qualifying tomorrow as usual and brushing-up on some German. I like the Red Bull Audis...works good. |

The ultimate end of the finale should be 1. Tomczyk, 2. Spengler. 3. Ekström.
final standings in championship: 1. Tomczyk 50 points 2. Spengler 50 points 3. Ekström 50 points And who gets the trophy in the end? Exactly! Those bloody Germans again. It's almost like soccer |

LOL. And fastest again this morning in free practice. If Martin does indeed pull off a championship this weekend, I sure didn't see it coming. Qualifying in 10 mins or so, 5:30 am here.

Q1: End of the session. Jamie Green is fastest with three outright best sector times 1.33.450, from Spengler, Kristensen, Scheider, Tomczyk and Schneider. Ekström/SWE down in 12th.

But not in the drop zone, so doesn't really matter thankfully.
So that's 3 Audi's and 3 Missiles out already. |

Q3: Major Tom Kristensen will be starting from pole, leading an Audi trio with Timo Scheider and points leader Mattias Ekström. Jamie Green is best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver in fourth from Martin Tomczyk, Bruno Spengler, Bernd Schneider and Daniel la Rosa.
Hard lines Bruno, and a tough day again tomorrow! Dammit |

Ekström didn't look to be up for it up untill now this weekend. And now he's suddenly up there. Spengler tried to be though in the TV interview, but I think he got a hard hit today.

With 4 Abt Audi's in the top 4, going to be hard to beat.
Obviously team orders should help Audi try and control that championship into Ekstrom or Tomczyk's favour. Still can't get over how hypocritical Haug sounds going on about not employing team orders Hopefully this race will set-up a nice season for 2008, this probably being one of the DTM's most troubled. Grid 1 - Tom Kristensen [7] - Team Abt Sportsline - Audi A4 DTM - 1:32.862 2 - Timo Scheider [8] - Team Abt Sportsline - Audi A4 DTM - 1:32.939 3 - Mattias Ekström [3] - Team Abt Sportsline - Audi A4 DTM - 1:32.950 4 - Jamie Green [5] - HWA AG Mercedes - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:33.028 5 - Martin Tomczyk [4] - Team Abt Sportsline - Audi A4 DTM - 1:33.191 6 - Bruno Spengler [2] - HWA AG Mercedes - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:33.273 7 - Bernd Schneider [1] - HWA AG Mercedes - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:33.939 8 - Gary Paffett [9] - Persson Motorsport - AMG-Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:34.080 9 - Alexandros Margaritis [10] - Persson Motorsport - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:34.081 10 - Alexandre Prémat [17] - Team Phoenix - Audi A4 DTM - 1:34.196 11 - Mike Rockenfeller [11] - Team Rosberg - Audi A4 DTM - 1:34.218 12 - Markus Winkelhock [20] - Futurecom TME - Audi A4 DTM - 1:34.446 13 - Christian Abt [16] - Team Phoenix - Audi A4 DTM - 1:34.538 14 - Paul di Resta [19] - Persson Motorsport - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:34.587 15 - Lucas Luhr [12] - Team Rosberg - Audi A4 DTM - 1:34.640 16 - Mathias Lauda [18] - Mucke Motorsport - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:34.685 17 - Susie Stoddart [14] - Mucke Motorsport - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:34.723 18 - Daniel la Rosa [15] - Mucke Motorsport - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:34.192 (Penalty) 19 - Vanina Ickx [21] - Futurecom TME - Audi A4 DTM - 1:35.910 20 - Mika Häkkinen [6] - HWA AG Mercedes - AMG Mercedes C-Klasse - 1:34.478 (Penalty) Last edited by Hazard; 13 Oct 2007 at 14:23. |

Well, and I still remember 1999 STW Cup final lap :-D. I hope this season of farce will end up with class?! Hope but don't think so...

I think we're all for that Alex. After qualifying yesterday, any issues seem more likely now between Tomczyk and Ekström than anything that might come from a C-Klasse.
But I guess we're about to find out, in another 40 mins or so. Rennen: Alberta Canada Sunday October 14, 2007 at 6:00:00 AM UTC-6 hours. |

Jamie Green overtakes Mattias Ekström at the hairpin and gets past.

The German commentators think Ekstrom has a technical problem.
