pao should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Just a question on communication...

I noticed my sig got changed, presumably by a moderator. Fair enough, I didn't notice the stipulation first time around (or possibly I discounted it as applying only to commercial sites). In any case, I was wrong, and that's not a problem.

But I was confused for a minute. "Er, why did that change," sort of thing.

So to the point...I know the mods and admins are busy people, but it would have been nice to get a PM mentioning that I was violating forum rules and that my sig had been changed to fix that.

By the way, if I'm still technically in violation with the current signature, I can change it.

Patrick,

I've changed quite a few sigs over the last day or two, don't remember if yours was one of them or not. The notes on the page where you change your sig are quite clear - ".. you must not use this feature to promote a website". A link to your homepage appears next to every post - the house icon next to your name - so having it in your sig is unnecessary.

I don't consider this sort of thing to be a major naughty. Unless I've had to change it several times and warn you about it you are certainly not going to get banned for it. I ddn't bother to send you a PM partly because of that and partly because I changed so many in one go.

As far as your current sig, there's nothing against the rules but as I said there's already a link to your homepage next to your name so inviting people to look at your profile is a bit pointless.

Heh, never noticed that (the icon). Just haven't been around here long enough. Useful tip though. Sig changed to suit.

Thanks for the longer explanation. I definitely understand if you were doing a massive cleaning why you might not notify individually.
