A chink in Ferrari's armour...?
Hey come on! It wouldn't be the pre-season without the obligatory "Ferrari are in trouble" smokescreen!
Though i'm sure Ferrari won't be using much of their mirrors come Melbourne Taken from Autosport.com "Bridgestone boss not worried. Bridgestone racing boss Hisao Suganuma has played down the tyre degradation troubles suffered by Ferrari in this week's major Formula 1 test at Valencia. Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello did not feature at the top of the timesheets until Friday, and were reported to be suffering from poor tyre durability. It was suspected that Bridgestone might have brought too soft a compound to the test after receiving misleading data from the previous week's test at the newly resurfaced Barcelona circuit. Suganuma denied this." |

They've also had some engine problems if anyone wants another crumb of comfort.

Yes. Ferrari were in tyre trouble all last pre-season and a week or two before the first race,at an Imola test, they found a great tyre and outpaced Williams by two seconds.
Don't get carried away on this one! |

Sadly if their trouble is just down to tyres I expect Bridgestone already have a better compound halfway to the next test by now.

Tyres are limited this season, All teams are worried about tyre degradation.
"BRIDGESTONE ARE NOT WORRIED" I think this is the key phrase here, that has been ignore. |

At a recent test at Valencia it was interesting to see the lap times that where banged in by the michelin runners. Taken into concideration that there is a 25% reduction in downforce they where still clocking times that where very close to the track record which was set last year by kimi who very nearly matched his record time. Also Alonso completed 88 laps on one set of tyres and was amazed at the tyre performance. Who knows maybe michelin has got it spot on

Quote:"Tyres are limited this season, All teams are worried about tyre degradation.
"BRIDGESTONE ARE NOT WORRIED"" Funny thing..that in F1, people express things differently. MS 2004: "Williams & Mclaren are our biggest threat this season" Reality - Ferrari trashes them...and even Renault and BAR stuck a foot in Red Bull: "We value continuity...stability is key. Jaguar Racing is a good team." Reality - We sack the respected duo Prunell & Pritz , and replace them with a new comer in F1. Mclaren 2004: "Our pace is impressive..we'd fight for the championship..we live to win" Reality - Ouch Michelin 2004: "We produce the best tyres, all teams agree" Reality - Strangely the car who won most of the time wears Bridgestones...a trend since 2001. DC: "I had a good year.." Reality - If everyone failed to see Kimi...perhaps. ... ... ... |

Indeed. maybe should be titled "Ferrari not bulletproof'"?
Michael is still my favourite to win the title, but I expect a few mixed results until their new car comes in. |

Posts removed: Funny or not, PC or not, it has hardly done wonders for this thread. If you don't actually have anything to say on the subject matter then why bother? Someone else does, which is why they started the thread.
Apologises for the dullness of this post |

I suspect there is actually little in this problem. Remember last year, Ferrari were in trouble right up to the final Imola test.
Still maybe there will be an issue, it'll make things fun! |
