Rod Birley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rallycross team triumph

At the third Lydden festival of motorsport, today, the rallycross boys beat the group A hot rods on the oval. Team scores were 162 to 146. Although group A hot rod driver Chris Goldsmith won overall, Julian Godfrey finished a strong second (winning one of the heats as well). Former rallycrosser but back in the hot rod team, Alan Thorndyke came third overall. Best prepared cars went to 761 David Martin (stock hatch) and 82 Dave Lamb (hot rods). Unluckiest driver award went to Capt.Kirk, who unfortunately ended up in hospital, must stress nothing to do with racing....may be dodgy food last night??
It was a very good, clean meeting, plenty of camararderie and joviality at the end. Its amazing what a few beers and a BBQ can do.
Anyway well done to team Stock hatch, a brilliant effort.

Capt sorry you were taken ill.
Brilliant day out. Well done to all of you.
Weather was superb. A big thank you to Rod for organising it all, this was on top of racing, and winning in the morning.

Just to let you know, I spoke to Kirk last night. He is out of hospital and back home now. He said he still feel's pretty tired and sore, but glad to be home.

I think considering how he felt throughout the day it was a damn good effort on his part, towards the team.

ps Kirk - thanks for trusting me with your car, a don't forget to get that master switch sorted out!

cap't back

Hi everyone, on the mend now. thankyou all for your kind words. Just goes to show that Rallycross is the best place to be along with the oval racing organised by Rod. Once again thanks to all.
